Preparations for 2024 continued on Wednesday in Sepang as the second day of testing awaits the MotoGP™ class.
“Even though we did a good lap time at the end, that’s not our main focus now, but we’re more inclined to try different parts and settings. It’s a good day, because we improved our speed, and also the way I rode with the used tires, which is an important point for the race. I’ve got some parts I’ve been asked to try, so let’s go with them, do some laps to get the data.”
“It wasn’t the first day we dreamed of unfortunately. We had a game plan to follow, but we lost time in the morning. In the afternoon, we tried a new bike and a new chassis, and that’s when I started to recover a little, get the feeling again, but this pretty slow all day. We have things clear for tomorrow, we know what our package is for the second day at a good pace, so I’m looking forward to continuing the work with the team.

After completing two busy days of track action during the Shakedown, the Repsol Honda Team is back out for three more days of riding. Mir finished the day as the fastest of the two drivers thanks to the best time of 1’58.741, set on lap 42 of 43.
