Super Comp Course
Super Comp is an affordable alternative to some other drag racing classes where it can take a lot of energy and a lot of money to win. In Super Comp, you can compete with 600 to 800 hp engines in rear engine dragsters. Some racers are running upwards of 1,200 hp, but they don’t really need that much power. In fact, some racers say that if a car makes too much power and is going too fast, it makes it difficult for the driver to judge the distance to the finish line and the other lanes. Ideally, you just want the other car to be at the finish line within the 8.90 time frame
Most of the vehicles racing in Super Comp are rear engine rail dragsters because they are light, relatively simple and affordable. Most draggers are powered by big-block Chevys from 509 to 632 seed, although some racers run Chrysler engines or small-block Chevy V8s. A popular setup is the 565cc big-block Chevy, built to redline at 7,500 rpm while making 900 to 1,000 horsepower.

Drag racing is a form of RC that I really have no experience with, so when I started seeing the body, wheels and tires for this car coming out, I knew I had to build one. After doing a little research and chatting with some pro racers about these cars, I put together a parts list and began construction.
Ls Swapped Second Gen Camaro
The chassis I’m using for this Eliminator/Outlaw build is a Pro-Line Racing Pro-2 SCB. I’ve had this car in the shop for a few years for show displays and product photos, and it’s a perfect base for a new build. I have to change some parts on the Pro-2 to fit it under the Octane body I’m going to The Pro-2 in stock form is the Pro-Track width of the Pro-Line, so it’s 10mm wider than other stock short course platforms and because of that, the A-arms, suspension links and rear axle all have to be swapped to bring it up. Track width. This is a very easy conversion as the Pro-2 is slash-based, so many Trax compatible parts will fit. I chose to go narrower bandit width rather than slash width and it’s easier to achieve I used RPM arms, but Traxx A-arms can also be used
I also had to swap out the front shock tower for a truck shock tower so the extended body mount would fit. These mounts are 100% necessary to fit one of these body types to a short course chassis.
* The only modification required is to drill the front hub hinge pin holes The Pro-2 stock outer hinge pin is a small diameter, so I had to drill it out and use M3 screws for a shallow hinge pin to accommodate the front spindle and hub and make it work with the RPM arm. I ordered the STRC outer hinge pin so we’ll see if that works *
I use everything in a loaded setup with some upgrade parts options to convert the short course to a narrower width.
