With the version 1.08 update released, the team continues to work on version 1.09 and regularly requests fan and player feedback. It has been stated that the team will continue working on the title “in the future”.
Let’s hope that development resources are in the right place – at least Embracer Group is openly admitting to long-term expectations – and that sales of the title increase to help secure the franchise’s future .

MX vs ATV Legends is the latest installment of the legendary series and follows 2018’s MX vs ATV All Out. I will be the first to admit that although I am a fan of the MX vs ATV series… I haven’t been truly impressed with any entry in this series in a very long time. I still believe the series is out and I know there are some people who love the final entries, but they’re not my cup of tea. With that in mind, I went into Legends with relatively conservative expectations, and I have to say that they’ve far exceeded those expectations so far. I only had a limited amount of time with this game, but at this point I’m willing to say it’s my favorite MX vs ATV game since Reflex. Below you’ll find a video that takes you through the beginning of career mode, the different types of races you can participate in, and what it’s like to customize the bike/rider in this section. Below the video you will find some additional comments about different parts of the game. This is not a full review of Legends but rather some notes on the features and game modes that also include some of my initial impressions.
Legends’ career mode feels very MX versus ATV-esque. It doesn’t have the depth of other sports series like NBA 2K, but we also can’t really expect that kind of career mode from a motor racing game. You basically have a farm as your home base that you can explore in your free time and go on training tracks in it, and then you’ll also interact with various characters, which are your team members, as you progress through the way. It just guides you through various series and offers, taking you from amateur races, through the 250 class and finally to the 450 class. It’s nothing crazy, but so far I’m enjoying it Enjoy your time playing career mode. Not every career mode needs a million cutscenes and quick decisions. WHO. Occasionally will still go full kamikaze and send you and various other racers out randomly, but overall I found the A.I. pretty solid and it actually gave me a bit of a challenge early on in my career. I also haven’t really encountered any major bugs with this mode so far, which is always a plus for a brand new game these days.

Ah yes, the thing everyone loves to talk about the most when it comes to MX vs ATV games. I will say that some of you are still not satisfied with the physics in this section. However, I think this physics engine is the best since Reflex. The air physics still seem a bit stiffer than they need to be, and while the whip physics aren’t too bad.. there’s definitely room for improvement in that regard. However, I don’t really have any problems with the ground physics. Throwing the whip is cool, but feeling nimble and actually being able to attack corners the way I want is a bigger deal for me. And in this section, I felt like I had full control when handling my bike in corners and straights. I also haven’t unlocked a fully upgraded bike yet, which may have affected my experience so far.
Honestly, this might be the only part of this game so far that feels like it’s been lacking since its initial launch. The customization of the bike is good. We have all the usual options you would expect from an MX vs ATV game, and things will improve a lot in this area once we can get OEM DLC. The piece that’s been missing for me up until this point is the ability to customize the rider. There are only a few options per category, and while we have some notable brands, I really think there should be more options than what we had at launch. There may be some equipment DLC packs coming later, but as of now the selection is definitely a bit mediocre, especially when it comes to the goggles selection which only comes in five brands.
Legends includes 19 Supercoss tracks, 20 motocross tracks, six UTV national tracks, four rhythm tracks, 14 road courses, 13 invitational tracks and of course the Rawlings Ranch for freeride. That’s a huge amount of content for players to experience. And like all MX vs ATV entries, the tracks included with the base game are realistic to some extent. They are definitely affected
